She grew up in Colorado Springs, graduated from Wasson High and received her BA and teaching certificate from the University of Colorado CS. She taught for 27 years at Monterey Elementary School. Upon retiring from school district #2, she joined the Pikes Peak Library System and worked in several libraries throughout the area.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday May 4 at Community Church, 800 Valley View Dr., Woodland Park, 80863. A pot luck will follow.
