Christine Lynn Healy, 67, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in her home. She was born January 30, 1952 in Lincoln, NE to Carole (Hawkins) McCormick and Gary Blackman. She met her husband Tom, in 2001 while working at AAFES in Colorado Springs, CO.

Her journey started in Nebraska with her trusty camera by her side. She always noticed beauty in the little things.  Chris moved to Colorado Springs and began working for AAFES in 2000. Her worldwide travels began during her first deployment to Iraq in 2004. Over the years her favorite places to travel were Italy, Turkey, France and the Canary Islands. Her travels often took her to Nebraska and Pennsylvania to visit her beloved family and friends. During her journey Christine was also an entrepreneur owning her own advertising and newspaper businesses.

Chris’s travels were often defined by her love of art in many forms. She loved animals, nature and music. Christine would talk to cows as she passed by them on the highway, hand feed the squirrels in the backyard and use her camera to capture the beauty of deer and other wildlife. Her passion for life and her loved ones is evident in the bonds she formed with the people in her life. She put her all into her work, her family and her friends. Christine will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Christine is survived by her husband of 15 years Tom of Colorado Springs; four children Melanie, Sarah (Tim) Hayden, Jesse Kelley, and Christopher Behrens; grandchildren Christian, Rayanne, Ethan, Elijah, Aidan, Jordyn, Ewan, Johanna, Illeana, Hunter, and Lennon; Great-Grandchild Paxton; Step-Mother Janet Blackman; five siblings Connie (Bob) Lee, Cori Miller, Cheri (Frank) Chavez, Jay Blackman, and Babs Carter; aunt Deanna (Jim) Hamling; mother in-law Bertie Healy; sister in-law Robin; nieces and nephews Daniel, Darrin, Dennis, Charlie, Ry, Kody, Jennifer, Elliot, Alison, Chandra and Danica; her beloved dog Shadow; and multiple cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Gary Blackman and Carole (Robert) McCormick; father in-law Thomas Healy; brother in-law Greg Miller; and niece Tosha Thomas.

Christine’s celebration of life will be held Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Springs Funeral Services North 6575 Oakwood Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80923, 1:00 PM. There will be a reception directly following the service.  There will also be a visitation on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Springs Funeral Services North 6575 Oakwood Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80923, 3:00 – 5:00 PM.
