Linda Marion Wiedman passed away August 31, 2018 at the age of 70 in Forest Ridge Senior Living Center.  Linda was a long term resident of Cripple Creek moving there in 1964 after she wed John Wiedman her spouse for 54 years.

Linda was bon on May 14th 1948 to H.M and Geniva Groseclose in Hobart, OK.

She as the oldest of five children, she attended school in Hobart and was active in her church since childhood, she met her husband John when he was stationed at Clinton Sherman Air Force base in the neighboring town of Burns Flat Oklahoma, They later married on April 18th 1964 and moved to Cripple Creek. Linda obtained an Associates Degree in Business and accounting from Blair business College in Colorado Springs Co in 1983 and started a career with the Teller County Treasurer's office where she worked her way up to the deputy treasurer, she then transferred to the Teller County Assessor's office where she retired on October 31st,2017 as the Deputy Assessor. She was a member of the Eastern Star chapter in Cripple Creek for over 40 years and served as a Worthy Matron on several occasions. Linda loved crafts and baking an prior to starting her career she chose to be a stay at home mother to her four children, she served as a room mother for every party, as a Cub scout, Boy scout, Brownie and Girl scout leader for both her children and grandchildren, she was an active member of several churches during her life, in a time with few residents in Cripple Creek and churches opening and closing she went to which ever one had the doors open including the United Church of Cripple Creek, Cripple Creek Baptist Church, Victor Baptist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher at all of them, in the early 90’s she became a member of the Open Air Chapel and then the Rocky Mountain Chapel, she was currently a member of the Mountain Life Church. She always said that her greatest achievement was her family.

Linda is survived by her husband John an their dog Tank of Cripple Creek , her daughter Sarah Ann (Wiedman) James of Cripple Creek, her son Michael John Wiedman of Cripple Creek, her daughter Mary Katherine  Wiedman  of Cripple Creek and her son Aaron Joseph (AJ) Wiedman of Cripple Creek., 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson, her brother James Groseclose and Ruby of Hobart Ok, her brother Leonard Groseclose of Hobart, Ok and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. She is predeceased by: her parents HM and Geniva Groseclose, and infant brother Raymond and her sister Myrtle Leatherbury.

Viewing will be on Tuesday September 4th from 3-5 at Mountain Memorial Funeral Home, 51 County Road 5, Divide, CO.

Service will be held Wednesday, September 5th at 1:00 pm at the Mountain Life Church of Cripple Creek, 4031 Teller County Road 1.  A visitation will be held before the service from noon - 1:00pm.  Officiant Manny Dunlap accompanied by, Nolan, John and Tom Daniels.

Pallbearers: her grandsons David and John Farr, Eric and Jonathan Wiedman, Christopher Monk and Dylan Collier.
