Deborah Ann Petty passed away unexpectedly on October 1, 2017.
Debbie was born to Billy Roland Diamond and Therese Ann (Harris) Diamond  on August 28, 1953 in Lawton, OK.  She moved to Cripple Creek in 1983 and lived in the 'pink cloud' house for many years.
She loved her family, friends and community.  Her passion was cooking and she loved to share her food with friends family and at special events.  She currently worked in the Teller County Treasurer's office.  She was very involved in bringing gaming to Cripple Creek.  Deb was very active in politics, and served six years on Cripple Creek City Council.  She volunteered at the Historical Society and Habitat for Humunaity .  She loved shooting and was an NRA instructor for many years.  She was a motorcycle enthusiast.  By the age of two she had been to 22 states and 2 foreign countries.  Her dream was to see the rest of the world, and she loved her trip to Germany.  She was looking forward to having a vegetable garden in her new home in Grand Junction.  Her compassion and love was felt by many, and she will be looking down on all she loved.
Deb is survived by her loving children: Chris (Cindy) Merrick, Zack Merrick and Rhiannon Carnahan; beloved grandchildren: Skylar, Sam and Avery; her brother Carl Diamond, sisters Vicki Bohlman and Leslie White; former husband, Cino Petty, many cousins and friends.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Cripple Creek Elks Lodge, 375 Bennett Dr., Cripple Creek, CO  80813.
Deb will deeply missed and always remembered.

Deb will be missed! About 7 years ago, I 'walked' the course for Donkey Derby Days marking the course through Victor and back to Cripple Creek. To this day, I still recall trying to keep up with the fast pace set by Deb in placing markers over the 3 or 4 mile course.

I am sorry for your loss. Please allow God to comfort you through this painful loss through His promise to care for our dead loved ones in the resurrection at Acts 24:15. Death was not a part of God's original purpose for mankind and that is why it is so hard to deal with this kind of loss. But our loving Heavenly Father has provided a solution to all of our problems including sickness, old age and death through His kingdom{government} in the hands of Jesus Christ our Lord real soon so that we can enjoy the wonderful life He purposed on a paradise earth. {Psalms 37:9-11,29}
