James Gordon Pauloo, age 70, passed away at home surrounded by his family on February 6, 2019.

Jim grew up in Mill Valley, CA and attended Mt. Tamalpais High School.  He was drafted right out of high school into the Army during the Vietnam era.  He spent his years of service in Germany.

At Jim’s return from service, he met and married his wife Claudia.  Jim then began his schooling and attended College of Marin, Sonoma State University, and graduated with his B.S. in Geography from San Francisco State University.  After the birth of their only daughter, Jocelyn, the family moved to Montana where Jim pursued a degree in horseshoeing.  Upon their return to the Bay Area, Jim established a horseshoeing business in Marin County.

Jim later hired on at the San Francisco Presidio where he worked for over 20 years.  Jim was dearly loved by his workmates for his work ethic, his sense of humor, and his devotion to the Presidio.  Jim considered the people he worked with at the Presidio like his second family.

Jim retired from the Presidio in 2015 and he and Claudia moved to Divide, Colorado to be with their daughter and her family.  They realized their lifelong dream of owning property where they lived and enjoyed caring for their horses, dogs, chickens, and other animals.

Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Claudia Pauloo, his daughter Jocelyn Rosado, son-in-law Tony Rosado, his granddaughter Alyx Rosado, his older brother Daniel Pauloo and his wife Wendy Pauloo in Vermont, and many friends.

The family would like to thank Abode Hospice of Colorado and the help of friends and neighbors.

Services will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
