Mary Ann (Sullivan) Murphy, born November 23, 1946 passed away on June 2nd, 2019 due to natural causes in Colorado Springs, CO. Mary was a Colorado Native born in Pueblo and making her most recent home of 15 years in Penrose, Colorado. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Michael J. Murphy and surrogate family of Carla Dornsbach including children Montana, Jackson, Aspen, and Autumn. Mary graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with both her Bachelor and Masters of Arts degrees. She had a successful and vibrant career working as a Social Worker in Boston, MA, for the Bank of Hawaii, the San Diego Zoo, and for Ford Motor Credit. She also was active in several nonprofits including the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado, SRDA of Pueblo, Penrose Library, and various other organizations throughout her life. Mary devoted her life to her animals, including dogs, alpacas, and her horses Jewel, Maddie and Pumpkin. Mary also had a passionate love of travel, eating out, and spending time with friends. Mary was a kind, generous, and supportive friend to many and will be dearly missed.
Service will be held on Monday, July 1st , 11 a.m. at Mountain Memorial Funeral Home in Divide, CO with the viewing beginning at 10:30 a.m.
