George Elliott Dosher - 1940 - 2018
George, 77 of Cripple Creek, CO died at his home Friday, April 6th, due to complications from PTSD and dementia.
George was born May 21, 1940 to Arthur J. Dosher and Francis Dewey (Dozier) Dosher. He was the youngest of six sons, Ralph, Roy, Jack, Jerry, and David. He was born in Campers, New Jersey and spent his youth in Southport, NC where he met his wife Bonnie (Baker) while they were both toddlers. George and Bonnie married on August 13, 1960. They had one son, George Jr.
George served in the United States Army for 21 years, rising to the rank of E8 and earned numerous commendations including the silver star. After retiring from the Army, he worked various jobs, most notably as the maintanence man for Southpark Mobil Home Park in Sheridan, CO.
George was an avid outdoorsman, a talented woodworker and a wood carver, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His memberships include: Elks Lodge #309 in Colorado Springs and Lifetime member of the VFW in Altus, OK.
George is survived by; His wife of 57 years, Bonnie, son George & wife Michelle (Brown), and grandchildren George III, David, and Charisa. As well as several nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
A memorial service will be held on April 13, 11:00 am at the Elks Lodge on North Nevada Ave in Colorado Springs, CO. Final interment will at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, where his brother David also rests. Arrangements for the interment are pending. Services will be conducted by his son, George.
