Rosemary Quinn, 84, passed away at Forest Ridge Senior Living Center in Woodland Park on March 8, 2018.  She was born at Penrose (Glockner) Hospital on April 10, 1933.  She grew up in Cascade, CO spending summers on a ranch in Florissant, CO.  She graduated from Manitou Springs High School in 1951 and attended Loretto Heights College in Denver in the Nursing program before entering the convent at Sinsinawa, Wisconsin. She was ordained Sister Mary Nicholai before leaving the convent to marry childhood friend David Quinn. They were married on September 10, 1954 and raised five children.  Rosemary was an avid horsewoman.  Her knowledge of area history and memories of life in Ute Pass were unsurpassed.

Rosemary was employed at Ute Pass Elementary School as well as the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home, and as a private duty CNA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Quinn, parents, Nicholas Sanborn, Sr. and Lucile (Malick) Sanborn as well as sisters, Catherine Sanborn and Vera Sanborn Barnes, and her twin brothers, Nick Sanborn, Jr. and Frank Sanborn.

She is survived by her children, Mary Courtney (Summersville, MO), Patricia Quinn (Cheyenne, WY), Matt Quinn (Kansas City, KS), Susan Butler (Greg) (Colorado Springs, CO) and Judy Hertel (Ken) (Colorado Springs, CO).  She leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren with three more great grandchildren expected in the coming months.  Special blessings to niece Lisa Haight and husband, Ray (Cascade, CO) and great granddaughter Quinn Forester (Kansas City, KS).

Visitation and Rosary Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 3:00PM at Mountain Memorial Funeral Home, 51 County Rd. 5, Divide, CO 80814. Catholic Mass at Holy Rosary Chapel, 4435 Holiday Trail, Cascade, CO 80809 on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 9:00AM. Burial to follow at Woodland Park Cemetery.
